Crozes-Hermitage Blanc, Domaine Combier

Whites Rhones are sometimes underestimated, and it is a mistake. They have this depth and palette of aromas that only Provence can compete with while being a better terroir on paper. Domaine Crozes Hermitage Blanc is produced on the plateau of Crozes Hermitage with its stony soils.

TASTING NOTE

There it expresses aromas of fresh pears, honey, white flowers, almonds, anise, orange peel, vervain, fine fresh herbs, and plenty of white pepper. Aromatic, fleshy, oily, and incredibly succulent. This paradox of drinkability and aromatics is classic to the area but hard to achieve. Keeping an aerial character while offering so much complexity on the nose and palate reminds us of some of the most outstanding Provence whites.

Laurent Combier is a leading figure in Rhone, based not far from the iconic hill of Hermitage. He specializes in making fine, balanced wines from the northern terroirs of Crozes-Hermitage and Saint Joseph. Defender of organic and biodynamic practices, his wines are often in finesse while preserving the authentic character of the grapes grown in the Domaine.
